Valeriya Gay Germanika, born 1984 in Moscow, studied filmmaking at Film and TV School “Internews” (class of Marina Razbezhkina). She made her first film at the age of 19. Her film Boys intentionally reacts to her previous documentary Girls that was named the best short film at the film festival Kinotavr in 2006 and participated at the 59th Cannes International Film Festival.
