Anke Schäfer, born in Krefeld, Germany, actor and director in the TAM-Theater, theatre for new music, in Krefeld 1980–1988. Studies at the Art Academy Düsseldorf in the videoclass of Nam June Paik and Nan Hoover; postgraduated studies in Fine Arts at  the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht. Several grants and Artist-In-Residencies, e.g. at the Bag Factory Johannesburg, 2007 and at the Kuona Art Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, 2010.

Testimony is a registration of wounds which we are confronted with by several (anti-)war, action and western films. The bloody traces of fictionized violence paint beautiful patterns, stigmatas of fiction.
